​Ambassador Daniel Simanjuntak, accompanied by the Trade Attache Ms. Iffah Sa’aidah as well as the Economic Team of the Embassy has concluded their work visit to Saskatoon and Regina, 23-25 November 2022.

This visit was intended to meet and identify potential companies and major players in the issue of food security, especially in the supply of potash and wheat, as well as to identify Canadian companies that import Indonesian products as well as to coordinate and compare notes with the Government of Saskatchewan.

During the visit, the Ambassador and his team has the privilege, as one of the key follow-up to the conclusion of the MOU between Indonesian Ministry of SOEs and CCC. They also visited Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission to discuss more about wheat production and additional exports to Indonesia. All parties agreed that Indonesia is a key and important market for Canada and they will explore avenues to further increase the supply for Indonesia.

In the sector of trade, they visited JakeCo Holdings and ViviGro Sustainable Solutions and learn that they have used a lot of Indonesian goods for the manufacture of their products. The Indonesian products imported range from packaging supplies to organic goods like bat guano (mineralized phosphate).

Finally, the delegation met with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Trade and Export Development to discuss potential future collaboration and ways to intensify the existing relations between Indonesia and Saskatchewan.
